I traveled to Lexington when I first met Katie and Matthew at their consultation. They thanked me profusely for coming all that way to meet them. They asked me about my family and were just so kind and down to earth. And it was that way every time I met them after that. Just two of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. After being around Katie and Matthew all day on their wedding day and meeting their families, you instantly know why they are such kind people!
So, Katie and Matthew have known each other since middle school. They had the same circle of friends. They even went to a dance with each other. But they didn’t start dating until they were in college. The rest is history!
This wedding confirmed for me why I will always and forever be a fan of The First Look. The moment they saw each other they were filled with such emotion and joy!! (That was the first time I cried that day!) It was one of THE sweetest moments ever! A lot of couples think that doing a First Look will take away from the moment that the groom first sees the bride walking down the aisle. However, I think it is such a sweet time to be quiet with each other and talk and hug and get rid of some of those butterflies before the big walk down the aisle!
The second time I cried that day was when Matthew saw Katie enter the chapel. Again, so much joy and emotion! I think we were all crying at that point!
I was talking to Katie’s mom after the ceremony and we were talking about how love changes and grows in marriage and about how beautiful it was as a Mom to see your child start this journey. These families were just full of so much love for each other. It was so touching to witness and I just feel so incredibly grateful to be a part of it all!
So much love for these two! Congratulations Katie and Matthew! Wishing you the most beautiful, joyful, and blessed marriage! It was an incredible honor to capture your day one!
